                  <text>In 1879 the Ohio Synod agreed to transfer the Cincinnati Classis to a proposed new German-speaking Synod for Ohio. In 1881 the Northwest Synod gave permission for three classes to be transferred for such a task. Approved by the 1881 General Synod, the Central Synod was organized November 3, 1881, at the Reformed Church in Galion, OH. In 1923 it united to the Ohio Synod to form a new Synod under the Ohio name.</text>
