Indiana Classis of the Reformed Church in the United States.

Description

The Ohio Synod authorized an Indiana Classis in 1849, and then again in 1852. This Classis was organized in Indianapolis, IN, on June 24, 1852. It became a charter member of the Northwest Synod in 1867, and following a 1913 approval, of the Southwest Synod in 1914. It transferred to the Midwest Synod in 1921. In 1922 all of its church moved into the new Indianapolis Classis. This Classis reported to the Ohio Synod between 1852-1866, the Northwest Synod between 1867-1913, the Southwest Synod from 1914-1920, and the Midwest Synod until 1921.
