Description

In anticipation of the announced reunion of the Free Synod, the (Eastern) Synod authorized the creation of this Classis in 1836. It was organized November 16, 1836, at the Race Street (First) Reformed Church in Philadelphia, PA. It continued to 1939 when all congregations were transferred to the Philadelphia Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. Reports to the (Eastern) Synod from 1837-1939.
